A magical stay in the Spanish Pyrenees

During the winter season, experience a "winter trip" to Pyrénées2vallées - Sobrarbe, Spain. This sublime high altitude region forms with the two French valleys a unique territory where you can make all your mountain dreams come true: snowshoeing among the pines, Nordic skiing, relaxation in a spa or hammam, cultural guided tours... Let's discover together the ideal program for a dream winter trip in the Pyrénées2vallées - Sobrarbe. Follow the guide!

Nordic skiing and ice climbing in Pineta

Starting point of your winter trip and gateway to the Spanish Sobrarbe, immerse yourself in the sublime Nordic area of Pineta. With 24km of slopes spread over 4 loops dedicated to cross-country skiing, you will discover the Pineta valley in the heart of unspoilt nature without a ski lift. The ideal place to clear your head, away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolises! If you come with your family, get to know the Felquera initiation circuit, a pretty 1km long loop in the forest. Throughout the estate, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Ordesa-Mont-Perdu National Park, whose exceptional landscapes are classified by UNESCO. The Pineta area also includes a ski school to learn Nordic skiing in complete serenity!
Lovers of thrills, get initiated to ice climbing in Pineta. This unusual activity is a clever mix of mountaineering and climbing! Equipped with a harness, ice axes and crampons, you climb the frozen wall of the Sarra waterfall, in an intense but satisfying effort. Throughout the activity, a guide accompanies you and guarantees optimal safety. If you want to climb other exceptional waterfalls, many routes await you at the Barrosa Circus and in the Christau Valley.

Enchanting snowshoe strolls in Barrosa

Between the Monte Perdido and the Aragnouet-Bielsa cross-border tunnel, embark on a grandiose snowshoeing journey. Leave your mark in the powder snow and breathe the pure air of the high Pyrenean mountains. Go alone or with a guide to discover the wondeful landscapes of northern Aragon. We recommend the walking itinerary from Parzan to the Barrosa circus. Easy to access, it is suitable for the whole family or for an introduction to snowshoeing. You start near the old mines of Parzan, whose remains you can visit as well as the old cable car used in the past to bring the minerals down. Heading west, your objective is only an hour and a half walk away! Throughout your snowshoeing trip, the Rio Barrosa River serves as your guide. Around you, a sumptuous scenery: the frozen waterfalls follow one another, you walk in the open air between glaciers, steep slopes and mountain pines. The arrival is at the Barrosa refuge, where the blue of the sky and the river blend with the white of the snow that covers the forests and bare slopes of the Barrosa circus. The show is divine, and you are among the lucky ones to admire it. If you want to discover other landscapes with snowshoes, discover the Llanos de la Larri route from Pineta and many other magical tours on the heights of Espierba and around the Monte Perdido. The possibilities of walking are endless in Aragon!

Aínsa and the Lake Mediano in the heart of Aragon

Between the Ordesa-Monte Perdido and the Sierra de Guara national parks lies the medieval town of Aínsa, a jewel of Aragon and one of the "most beautiful villages in Spain". Only an hour's drive from the French resorts, you will discover a pearl with an enchanting setting where the square bell tower of the Romanesque church of Santa Maria stands as a landmark.
In the background, the Pyrenean peaks invite you to adventure. Stroll through the pretty streets of the village with its Iberian atmosphere, enjoy a plate of tapas on the Plaza Major and discover its rich historical heritage. Only a few kilometres from the village, do not miss the Lake Mediano. Enjoy superb hiking trails around the lake and recharge your batteries near the turquoise waters of this immense area open to Aragon. You will probably notice a building that rises above the water. It is the bell tower of the old village of Médiano, sunk when the lake was created in 1973!
